I Have a Condiment Addiction - Let's Ketch-Up!

I don't think that I could've managed this extreme weight loss without condiments, Condiments are Mighty! They are instant flavour boosters! I love hot sauce and I have found a new passion for horseradish. I actually grow horseradish in my garden (see picture..it's taking over as I speak). However, there are mustards, kimchis, ketchups, yogurt based dips, hummus, pestos, oh my lord the list goes on and on and I love them all. I am an equal opportunity condiment eater! You can dress up any egg, apple or rice cracker in an instant or add a dollop to a tomato sauce or tuna salad - Bingo = Flavour Punch! Let's face it variety is the spice of life and being a food addict, I like to savour my flavours in a variety of ways. Condiments are quick n'easy and can be relatively low when it comes to calories.


I literally worked my tush off so when I find things that help me with cravings and boring foods, I experiment and give them a try. So on your next grocery outing peruse the condiment section...read the nutritional value on the labels and avoid those that have oodles of fat or SALT/SODIUM. International groceries stores are my secret weapon, this adds a whole new wing to my house of condiments...and a spare fridge in the garage :) I told you I had an addiction - you didn't believe me? There are salsa's, chutneys, relishes that are amazing, flavoured oils, vinegars (big favourite), Maple Syrup, etc.

Goodness me we haven't even touched on spice blends...so get out there, pick things up, ask questions if the grocers are small independents they love to give you guidance. I will post a few recipes that use condiments and also a few dips that I make from spices and concoctions of things that are my go to hacks in the recipe section - so check back for that. Remember the cost of condiments is usually low so even if you pick up a dud and don't like it, give it to a friend LOL or toss it and try something else - don't give up. I have honed in on a few ... dozen that I like and I tell you my weight loss warriors you will not be sorry! So Go forth and Relish the Day. Sorry for that :)
