I think I would be an Eat-More! Remember those? If you live in Canada you might, as they are distinctly Canadian and very original. They still exist, just a lot smaller in size. I used to love them, nuts and chocolate, toffee, and super chewy which would make them last a little longer.?! We didn't have a lot of sweets or chocolate growing up other than from Halloween and Christmas and because we lived in a very isolated area we had no trick or treaters and Christmas was pretty civilized with a box of After Eights, Quality Street and a big wooden bowl of nuts in the shell with a cracking device that shot more of the nut on the floor than into your mouth! Outstanding! I think field-mice ate mum's stash one year...that was a disaster and should have been featured on an episode of Unsolved Mysteries because not even the wrappers and boxes were left behind! However, I digress.. So not having parents who bought us chocolate regularly we had to hunt and gather for it and the closest convenience store was a 2 mile walk and when you got there you had so many goodies to choose from. Guess what this gal chose? You got it! Eat More!!!! Who knew that a name of a chocolate bar (from my childhood) would become my eating mantra for the next 4 decades?

Even after all my weight loss I don't always trust myself in a restaurant. I troll menu's online before I go, I negotiate with my WeightWatcher points to see if I think something is worth the value - but fully knowing that if I let my old self go, I would just order the biggest thing on the menu, regardless of the taste or what I really want. Volume is what I craved, always and still do! Hence the Eat-More. Nacho's or Fajita's were usually my items of choice when eating out. Most places have them as appetizers to be shared (NOT ME). I would have one as my meal and justify my choice by saying "I am having just an appetizer for my meal". Well when an appetizer serves 6-8, it no longer qualifies as an appetizer - but it had me convinced. My food addiction completely distorts my ability to understand perspective. Before my weight loss, this distortion took place everyday with every meal. Now I have it under control but I still respect its power. I still eat ALOT because as I have mentioned several times, I have a volume issue. Now I eat higher quality foods, that are non-processed, higher in fibre, richer in protein, with better fats, as well as lots of fruits and veggies. I love to cook, I love to try new foods, spices and new recipes. I LOVE food and I ALWAYS will and forever EAT-MORE...stay tuned!
